Our curiosity has brought us to visit the place which has recently been a talk in the town. A place where you can experience a dinner on a roof-deck which has an open space so you and your family or friends can enjoy the view of the stars or lights of Cebu City.

If you are seeking for place to eat especially on special days like Valentines day I highly recommend the place. It's very cozy and romantic. You can enjoy the view of the sun as it's setting on the west or the watching as the stars started to appear one by one on an empty dark sky as the night started to fall. Am I like a poet on this line? Duuuh, just practicing for a ballad I guess.

Anyways, during our visit the weather is so fine. The sky is so clear and the breeze of the air is so cool. Up there was like heaven with the angelic service crews whose always there to serve you with happiness. Currently they have a promo for their drinks which is buy one take one. I recommend you the fruit shakes. It's also perfect if you are going for a date at least you can save.

For the foods, I have 3 below which my friends and I have ordered during our visit.

1. Buffalo Wild Wings - P385

- The spicy cute tender little wings dipped on a blue cheese dressing was incomparable. Never had this taste experience before.

2. Grilled French Cut Pork Chops - P415

- Super tender and juicy. It's mild sweet which is perfect for couples. Sweetness overload.

3. Chicken Parmegiana - P465

- This is my favorite among all. I never tasted the way a chicken cooked like this before. It's a combo of different ingredients. It has ham, tomatoes, and cheese. I have no word to describe this one.

A piece of advise, don't order rice unless you are that very hungry. The servings are very huge which is even good for 2 or 3. It's American serving. You might also want to read some of the reviews from FaceCebu and Traveler's Couch.

At the club with my friends as we celebrate the New Year was already fun enough. Dancing through the beat of the sound and was like being manipulated by the DJ. Drinks on the other hand while the other one is on the air. The atmosphere was filled with smoke that passes through the light streaks of the laser beams. I just suddenly realized that this is not the way I wanted to celebrate the holiday.

Until one of my friend approached me and invited me to join with his friends to their trip to Moalboal at 5 AM. It was already 3 AM when he invited me. Unprepared and having no idea of this #LaagPaMore. Fortunately I was able to have an extra shirt, underwear and a boxer of my bag. So I quickly decided to come along.

While on the bus, I took the opportunity to rest myself and have a short nap. Arriving at the Moalboal Market at around 10 AM we then surf the place and find something to eat then bought drinks and fishes to grill. There I noticed an old ruined church which is just so magnificently beautiful.

We then hire a tricycle to get us to Basdako Beach. The way to the beach was frustrating where you are welcome by entrance fee collections which is not only once but twice. One for the Barangay and the other is for the resort. But the frustration was wiped out when our eyes caught on the enchanting water just in front of us.

We're finally settled to a cottage we rent just in front of the beach. While the others are busy grilling the fishes. I took the opportunity to wander the place and took pictures. It didn't take long until I finally soaked my self in the alluring crystal clear water of the beach. Near the shore is almost turquoise while the on the deeper side is navy blue. The white sand is comparable to Bantayan Island where I grew up. I can say that among all my beachin' experience this might be the clearest water I've been that I even imagine myself swimming in the pool. Aside from being clear, it might also be the saltiest seawater I've been. I didn't bother the heat of the sun at all. I spent all day long swimming to the majestic water of the South.

So How I Magically Transported to Basdako Beach?

From the South bus terminal, we took a bus going to Bato via Barili. Ask the conductor to drop you at Moalboal Market. Fare for the air-condition bus is P116. Upon reaching the market, hire a tricycle to get you at Basdako Beach where the fare can be P20 - P30 per person. Upon entering the beach, prepare a P5 entrance fee for the Barangay then another P10 entrance fee for the resort. Cottage will cost P300 where you can use the whole day. If you want to stay overnight the locals will offer you accomodations which will be around P1500. They also offer an island hopping package. The rent for the boat is P2500 which is good for 15 person which is already equipped with Snorkeling, Life Jackets and other tools for diving.

Badian, Cebu - Work-life balance has always been uneasy for the many of us. Especially to young professionals like us whom currently in the stage of adapting a new lifestyle. Where you have to deal on pressure and set aside your leisure. Which is also a major factor that hinder us from getting together with our old friends.

A planned overnight get-together to Lambug Beach located in Badian, Cebu had been set weeks before the event. As expected less had confirmed and most reason is busy. In our itinerary, we have to meetup at the South Bus Terminal by 6:00 AM but some of us didn't get on time including me. That is basically understandable since we are truly Pinoy so we have that Filipino-Time habit. As a result, we travel on separate groups but we are all still able to end up on the same place.

When we arrive, we went straight to the house where my colleagues made a reservation for an overnight stay. Even from afar, we already noticed the royal blue color of the ocean. The breeze is pretty refreshing that you can never had in the city. The islands of Negros was clearly visible from the shore which is plus factor to the place that it makes it more like a paradise. But when we get near the water, a friend of mine exclaimed the water is dirty blue not the royal blue we've seen from afar. Below the water is entirely corals and stones that made it dirty blue.

We take our rest and prepared the meal while waiting for the late comers. We grilled fishes that we bought from the market where we dropped from the bus. Enjoying the heat of the sun while picture taking in the shoreline. Some enjoyed themselves in Videoke. It was late afternoon until we all decided to go swimming but unfortunately the tide is low and all we got are stones and weeds. So we journey far from ashore to have at least a waistline level of water so we can swim. Some of us were injured because of the sharp corals including me. So unfortunate. When we finally take off, the sea started to rise that it looks like its only waiting for us to take off.

Preparing for the night, we setup tents outside the house and my tent was set beside the shore so I can enjoy the stars in the very clear black sky. Others stay inside the room. When the night falls, we gather in circles then we started the party. A mojito shot with salt and lemon for chaser. It was indeed the first time for some of us. We had so much fun talking to each other while a glass of liquor is being passed to one another. Until, we unconsciously realized that we are already drunk.

People started to act weird and talking about something out of this world. Some did topic on political issues and I wonder why are they talking about it. I myself even did something stupid. So I decided to leave the circle and straight towards my tent to get my sleep. The night breeze is chill but my internal body is like on blazing fire.

Excitedly woke up in the morning to have an early swimming but unfortunately the tide is low again.

When we had our breakfast, everyone started to talk about what happened last night and was laughing to each others stupidity. Some are still on bed getting the hangover. Again, we go swimming, picture taking, videoke and etc. Enjoying the rest of the time until we had to packed once again and prepare to go back to the city. It was a short time but those memories will last forever. A worth it #LaagPaMore with them!

So How I Get There?

I took a bus route to Bato via Barili. We ask the conductor to drop us at the Badian Public Market. The fare for the air-conditioned bus is P126. We hire a tricycle to get us to Lambug Beach where we pay P30 per head.

The joy I felt after I was able to help others was immeasurable. The feeling is comparable to the happiness you had when you are also being helped. Remember the saying "What you give is what you receive".

Daanbantayan, Cebu - suffered the wrath of Typhoon Yolanda way back in 2013. Many houses were destroyed thus leaving some family homeless. Daanbantayan is located at the northernmost part of the Cebu main island and is known for their beautiful, white-sand beaches. They are also vast and rich in Marine resources.

After the rage of the typhoon, was a heart-breaking moment witnessing the entire world is united and provided aids to the calamity. Foods and medicines are distributed to the victims. Some organizations, private companies and government sectors are also providing new shelter. One of them is the Gawad Kalinga foundation. Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, Inc. (GK) is a Philippine-based movement that aims to end poverty for 5 million families, by first restoring the dignity of the poor.

Upon knowing that there will be a Housing Project Mission Program for the Yolanda Victims, I never hesitated to volunteer.While on the bus with the other volunteers, I witnessed the beauty of the untouched lands of the north.My amazement while watching the landscapes can be considered as the prize already for my act. Upon reaching the place, we are welcomed by warmth smile from the villagers. The organizer then assisted us to the unfurnished buildings. The moment we are provided with tools we felt so excited that we started immediately. Some did the white-coating and some did the final layer. I thought it would be easy and simple but I felt my hands are already worn-out in just less than an hour. The job is tougher than I expected. We are covered in sweats and our skin are already burnt under the heat of the sun. I even went to some death-defying positions especially when painting the areas near the ceilings. Fortunately, the villagers lend us a hand and help us in our task. They are the beneficiaries of the houses we are painting. According to them, to become a beneficiary of the houses they must also work for it. Women and children can be seen helping. This is when I realized why it is called the "Unity Village". When we're finished we looked at our work and it was a heart-lifting feeling seeing the job well done. It was not just the houses are being given colors but also the hearts of everyone.

From the North Bus Terminal, ride a direct bus to Daanbantayan. Bus fare ranges from PHP 150-165 (for non-aircon buses) and PHP 160-180 (for airconditioned buses). Students and senior citizens may have a discount as long as they present their valid ID's to the conductor. Ask the driver or the conductor to drop you at the municipal hall. From the municipal hall, ask some locals for directions or ride a trisikad to get to the destination. Don't forget to bring gifts!
