Once upon a time, a wasted heart craved for burger, pasta, pizza, and shrimp …

The weather wasn’t quite cooperative that day. Starting in Ayala Business Park - Cebu where I dropped-off, I walked onwards to Asilo since I preferred walking as I’m not familiar with the place. I tried asking some people I met on the road of the whereabouts of “The Wasted Chef”, unfortunately, they haven’t heard of it. So, this brave young heart with super energetic feet traveled across nations and look for the restaurant by myself. Minutes of walk and I still can’t find the place. I stop passed the church and took my phone and tried contacting my friends. But before they can even answer my messages, my eyes caught a familiar face which happened to be my friend on the second floor of the building in front of me. I just then realized it was the place I was looking for. Finally!

I stepped inside and greeted my friends and was wondering why we’re the only customer. I just learned then that the restaurant will open only by 6 PM and we are just 30 minutes early. I was slightly disappointed as I didn’t see it coming that way. My pets in my belly are like forming a strike. I was truly hungry that time since I haven’t eaten since morning. Centuries later and everyone has arrived and exactly the restaurant officially starts serving. We went to the cashier and paid the P250  fee per head. We are then each provided with “tadtaran" or chopping board. It took me a moment to wonder what I should do with the wooden board. The wooden board is their unique style instead of a plate. It was indeed a brilliant idea. I never thought I’d be eating on a chopping board.

Time to eat! We took varieties of pizza and ask the servers for the pasta. We also ask them to serve shrimps for us. Then burgers and shawarmas on the other side. The fee is inclusive of bottomless iced tea.

What did I like? Among my options, what I love the most is their Filipino style pasta spaghetti. The taste is perfect Filipino style. Second is the butter-garlic fried shrimp, no wonder I almost consumed most of it. Their pizzas are quite okay for me but not quite enough for me to love them. What I don’t like are the burgers and shawarmas. Just not!

Overall, I enjoyed the night with friends. Dinner is not just about the food but the people whom within the table with you. The wasted heart finally found the treatment.

Our curiosity has brought us to visit the place which has recently been a talk in the town. A place where you can experience a dinner on a roof-deck which has an open space so you and your family or friends can enjoy the view of the stars or lights of Cebu City.

If you are seeking for place to eat especially on special days like Valentines day I highly recommend the place. It's very cozy and romantic. You can enjoy the view of the sun as it's setting on the west or the watching as the stars started to appear one by one on an empty dark sky as the night started to fall. Am I like a poet on this line? Duuuh, just practicing for a ballad I guess.

Anyways, during our visit the weather is so fine. The sky is so clear and the breeze of the air is so cool. Up there was like heaven with the angelic service crews whose always there to serve you with happiness. Currently they have a promo for their drinks which is buy one take one. I recommend you the fruit shakes. It's also perfect if you are going for a date at least you can save.

For the foods, I have 3 below which my friends and I have ordered during our visit.

1. Buffalo Wild Wings - P385
 - The spicy cute tender little wings dipped on a blue cheese dressing was incomparable. Never had this taste experience before.

2. Grilled French Cut Pork Chops - P415
 - Super tender and juicy. It's mild sweet which is perfect for couples. Sweetness overload.

3. Chicken Parmegiana - P465
 - This is my favorite among all. I never tasted the way a chicken cooked like this before. It's a combo of different ingredients. It has ham, tomatoes, and cheese. I have no word to describe this one.

A piece of advise, don't order rice unless you are that very hungry. The servings are very huge which is even good for 2 or 3. It's American serving. You might also want to read some of the reviews from FaceCebu and Traveler's Couch.

Mandaue City - It was a fine Friday night, when my friends decided to go out for a dinner. I had heard about this eat-all-you-can from my other friends and also from some advertisements. The place is very accessible as its located just along the road of A.S. Fortuna St. Banilad, Mandaue City. Just between Volvo and Hyundai. The entrance was decorated with different colors of LED lights that makes the place so elegant upon entering.

During our visit, there are only 2 groups including us who was there so the place was sort of perfect for us to have our bonding. The dining place is so wide and allocated with lots of chairs and tables. They also have this mini playground kids to keep them occupied while you enjoy your meal. We were also entertained by their dancing Panda mascot who gave us a wonderful dance number such as Twerk it like Miley!

The food they prepare is more on Chinese style including siomai, lumpia, steamed rice and etc. They even had a Chinese style adobo which surprised me so much. They had various of desserts too that you'll surely love.

The price is P259 per person and if you'd like to have a bottomless iced tea you'll just had to add up P35 per person. They also have this 5 + 1 promo where if there will be a birthday celebrant within the month among the 6 persons will be treated for FREE. Just bring a valid I.D. as for their basis.

The restaurant is open from 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Lunch) and 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Dinner). Also check their Facebook page for more details!

"Every day is a new opportunity so start it with a good breakfast!"

Lapulapu City - Early shift has always been a dilemma for me. As a laborer, it would be a waste of time if you have to cook your own breakfast. 6:00 AM? Where do you think you can eat at this early time? Here comes the Harbour City Dim Sum House, they are serving breakfast for as early as 6 AM till 10 AM. They offer it at a very low price. You can even have a Congee at P39.

My favorite here is either the Minced Pork with Garlic Rice and Egg or the Stewed Pork. Also all their breakfast meals comes with a coffee or a hot chocolate drink.

They also have good accommodation and the place is very clean and spacious. Lots of table so you won't have to worry. Check them out at Marina Mall, Lapulapu City!

"Luwag is a magical wand in disguise used by our moms to serve us good food. And suddenly this luwag turned itself into a place to answers your cravings."

Lapu-lapu City -  On search for dinner, my friends and I roam around the Gaisano Mactan Island Mall to look for something new to eat. Suddenly we discovered a newly stand building just in front of the mall. Basically the building is a part of Gaisano Mactan Island Mall, they call it Phase 2. The building was just opened last June 28, 2015.

From the outside, we are mystically attracted to a specific restaurant just beside Rai-Rai Ken. The restaurant is called Luwag. I know you haven't heard of this. So as part of our curiosity, we decided to go inside and check. Surprisingly we are accompanied by their very accommodating staff. She introduce their foods and to my surprise it doesn't cost that much.

Their foods are serve that can be even good for two or four. Served directly to your table fresh from the kitchen. They have comfortable and spacious place. Tables and chairs are made of food to emphasize they are serving Filipino foods. They are open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Check out there facebook page for more details.
