Mount Manunggal is the highest mountain in Cebu rising 1,097 meters above sea level. It is well-known because it is where Pres. Magsaysay's plane crash on 1957. On the way to the camp site, we were able to observe the remnant of the presidential plane Mt. Pinatubo in a monument built to remind people of the historical event. 

Before reaching Brgy. Sunog, Balambam, the fog that covers the entire road excites me so much as it is my first time being surrounded by such an enormous amount of fog in which the driver can't almost see anything in front. Opposite to the excitement, I felt very disappointed when we reached the entrance of Brgy. Sunog in where they collect P80 per person as an eco-tourism fee. Well, no one among us was informed about this newly implemented process. From the entrance, we ride a habal-habal motorcycle to a vacant training center where the trail begins.

The trail on the way to the camp site was easy as there were blocks on every step to help you not to get lost along the way. It was raining very hard upon reaching the camp site so we took shelter to the nearby house where we met Ate Rose the caretaker of the place. She was very kind and caring. She makes sure every one of us in safety. We requested a tinolang manok for P500 for our dinner. When the rain stopped, we setup our tents on the camping ground. Had our dinner and after we played cards with friends. Unfortunately, when we set out to our tents, the flooring of my tent was flooded with rain because it wasn't properly setup. But Ate Rose came to the rescue and she had some of us sleep inside the house.

Woke up early 5AM and we prepare for breakfast and immediately heads to the monolith peak. This is where the real adventure begins. The road is muddy and slippery which makes it harder for us. There are towering stones we have to climb to reach the peak. Upon reaching the end, it's all worth it. Stunning view from above of Mt. Manunggal.
